sumitra and bimla have named their manchaha “mann,” which, in hindi, translates to ‘heart and soul’. their manchaha embodies the love and bond that they share between them. the carpet captures a scene of them swinging in a hammock with their children at the side. the carpet was woven between two different festivals and so has motif of the two festivals woven in them. upon its completion, this manchaha became the centerpiece of their celebration.
